Residents of Moscow Region have participated in the Day of energy conservation since 2008 and SPARE-schools have been the most active participants. SPARE program proposed the creation of the themed Day (Day of energy) in 2008.
In 2015, more than 75% of the districts of the Moscow region participated in thematic skype conferences and have contributed to the development of Internet resources on the topic "Energy". The 2015 Day of Energy took another dimension as we had most striking of shared lessons on energy conservation, resource conservation, and practical cases which all took place in Pushkin and Lyubertsy district, Khimki and Zhukovsky towns.

Regional Board of Education in Moscow has rather become accustomed to consider the annual Day of energy-saving universal and important. Officially the day has been recognized to take into account the holiday plans of resource classes, the month of ecology, and the extracurricular work of many education centers. The main purpose of the Day of energy conservation is to attract the attention of the authorities and the public to the rational use of resources and the development of renewable energy sources. Unfortunately, many organizations have forgotten what this set aside day is all about, which is held annually on the 11th  of   November and which  is an initiative of the International Ecological Network "School Project for Application of Resources and Energy» (SPARE).
In November 2008, active participants at the SPARE program helped prepare and marked the first day of energy saving and overtime, SPARE program have been used to further  develop and send SPARE- schools new guidelines, posters and brochures to support their activities. Members of the Russian Social Ecological Union (RSEU) and the NGO "Viola" are the regional coordinator of the Day SPARE program and energy conservation in the Moscow Region.

Many high-rise buildings have started to use money made from advertisements on their porches for insulation and setting light on the motion sensor. Many schools have made short documentary videos on their neighborhoods and have made presentations on them during parents’ meetings at their relative schools on the 11th of November 2015.

They paid a great deal of attention to the creation of thematic exhibitions of books in the school and district libraries. Therefore, the library began to introduce children and adults to different methods of heat conservation, water, energy, climate change. The move has helped to attract new people to the SPARE program.
Students’ school №7 city Zhukovsky continued with the great program of waste separation and collection and they have been for the past three years since and has attracted many schools, students and many organizations in the city in showing interest in the program as this activity not only helps to protect the country's resources, but also makes the city cleaner and more comfortable to live in.
