The students - winners of the All-Russian competition SPARE - projects, 2014-2015 opened "Creative Workshop" at his school

Another inspiring piece from Russia..
Ivan Zaitsev
Ivan Zaitsev, a pupil of a rural grammar school in the Bryansk region won the first place in the 2014-2015 biennium edition of the All-Russian competition. The project was themed relevant and energy efficiency and Ivan’s project of “Household foil and self-adhesive mirror film - energy-efficient assistants for growing seedlings” won the first place. As one of the winners, Ivan Zaitsev, became a member of the International Summer School in June 2015.
The pupil decided to share with other students in his school the experience he had during the process of carrying out his project. This led him to the idea of “The Creative Workshop", where students learn the techniques of warming point for homes, saving water and energy.

Ivan Zaytsev and Tabuntsova Maria
Ivan Zaytsev and Tabuntsova Maria – students of Gymnasium №1, Bryansk region carried out the project "Household foil and self-adhesive mirror film - energy-efficient, a project which has greatly helped in the cultivation of seedlings. The experiment was carried out by the two students within the space of two years in their homes and they were carefully enough to measure all the parameters observed and made recommendations for all the inhabitants of the village.

The students reasoned that about 30% of Russia's population raise seedlings of agricultural plants in the spring in their apartments, but there has been the problem of not enough natural light in the region and this has greatly inhibited the growth of plants. This has overtime caused families to spend lot money and expend lot energy in raising home grown seedlings. This problem led the T the students and scientific director of the project, Natalia Zaitseva to emback on a project that calculated the energy savings during the growth of seedlings with supplementary lighting using fluorescent lamps and reflectors as a foil shield.  Amazingly the amount of electricity required was 4 times less!

The Students worked seriously and were very happy when they found out that their project won the first place at the All-Russia competition. Together with the victory of one other author received an invitation to participate in the International Summer School SPARE in June 2015 in Kazakhstan.  Maria Tabuntsova left to take her exams, and Ivan Zaytsev successfully presented the project to the teachers and students of different countries present at the program.

After returning from the camp Ivan Zaytsev addressed the students and teachers of his district, he spoke about each interesting and instructive day of the Summer School - SPARE, new knowledge and friendship that united the students.
His main conclusion was however very insightful “This International School - SPARE turned my thoughts about the future profession and gave brilliant friends".
Ivan Zaitsev created a "Creative workshop" in his school. Together, students re-read the books published by program SPARE and together held an energy audit of their homes and apartments and from which they discovered that they have not been doing so much in saving energy and water.
Students have developed models of warm home, a warm room, and even figured out how to warm the place of work and a berth. With a lot has been realized of the fact that a lot of cost can be saved by making do with the methods as prescribed by the students. Therefore, in the autumn season   many homes in the village Glinischevo with the help of students with parents had warmed windows and doors with the use a traditional idea of fabric canopy over each bed and rugs around their desktop.
Ivan Zaitsev shared his experience via skype with the new friends he made while at the camp. This is an exciting new step in the development of International Programs SPARE.
