“If the Planet chooses to speak for itself, what are our chances?”

Our planet has indeed come of age, at least in the sense of the time frame of the arrival of our kind. In a way it could be considered as the big black box that has the records of all that has ever happened and would ever happen. It has witnessed the numerous successions of human generations, our era-bound rise and falls, the innumerable feats that changed the face of the world and yet remains the one entity that gives all for the use of man and in return, gets the least of our gratitude.

Although, I haven't been here for long and I might not have witnessed all happenings all along from time immemorial, but in the few years I have spent on this realm, I have seen wrongs been justified as truthful necessities in order to satisfy the needs  that are obiously based on greed; I have seen men turned puppets in the hands of their selfish interests and I have beheld the most unnatural side of man wanting to live only for today with no reasoning as for the need for tomorrow. So, often I think out loud “What would the Earth say if it ever had the chance at speaking for itself?"

I'd like to paint a possible scenario here of a public hearing of planet Earth making a case against the whole of humanity and the outcome to be judged by unbiased evidence  and universally observed claims. The Earth I believe is quite capable of representing itself with a lot of references and credible evidences while man on the other hand might in every way have it hard arriving at a conclusion as to persons to represent their interests at the court of the universe. Reasons: -the injustice that abounds in the world's system of governance and so much for the socio-economic defined demarcation that exists, also not to be exempted from the list but very much possible-Nationally side-lined interest even in its bits taking preeminence over the need for the much needed alliance. The biggest problem would be the lack of fundamental evidences to support whatever premise of defense we might cook up in the view of justifying ourselves and of course to help tamper justice with mercy as the outcome might turn out to be heavier than anticipated (possible eviction from the planet, where would we go?).

It is quite of certainty that humanity would find no tangible premise of defense to counter the resounding store of facts and evidences that planet Earth would present. And the possible win of the planet would not be on the side of it being older in every way than man but in the vivid facts that abound all around and perhaps from witnesses found in nature and the natural cycle of the planet which has rather gone faulted or perhaps the ghosts of animals and plants already sent into extinction by the hands of man. It only seems more glaring that supposing there was the possibility of the painted scenario, humanity would definitely lose out as there would be nothing to stand as defense for us and not even a  single form of nature would be on our side as we have taken all to be ours alone. Guilty in every way and liable to been punished.

Even for the fact that the possibility of the physical enactment of the scenarios painted might not be entirely possible, humanity has already set off the bomb of punishments on themselves as all that had and is still been done as ills of greed now comes back to hurt in a real bad way which is leaving no one and no continent behind. A globally shared problem which is largely one sided caused. The chickens have finally come home to roost and indeed what goes around comes around. The problems are mighty stronger than we could even contend with in a lifetime and even still we are finding it hard to arrive at a conclusive way forward. 

But then, all is not to castigate humanity but to draw some attention towards making amend and choosing to live in the wisdom of putting into consideration all that is entailed in the cycle of Earth's sustenance even while trying to make life worth living. We could do so much to make the fight easier for the generation coming after us rather than make them live in the pains of our idleness.

The right choices are not so out of reach and the list is quite rich enough to even start from the simple. Remember, that to make a change might not be so easy and it might definitely come with the choice of making a sacrifice but usually the sacrifice is often worth it.
